Sun Shades On A Grey Day

Sun shades on a grey day
By Andy Allchurch

There are so many unspoken words to say
And hard times for me to get through
I’m wearing my sun shades on a grey day
Cause my eyes are crying rivers for you
You left me without a word
I don’t know what i’ve supposed to have done
Wearing sun shades on a grey day is absurd
But i know love has been and gone

There are so many unanswered questions to hear
And many reasons that are unclear to me
I’m afraid at the moment my minds not here
And now my eyes are unable to see

I’ve no impression, not even vague
I don’t know why you sprung this surprise
And the emotion on my face is displayed
So the sun shades on this grey day is my disguise

You were my life support, my true lifeblood
In you i found that i could confide
Now that dam has burst causing wide spread flood
And in my eyes the waters they collide

I’ve no understanding, not even remote
I need to resolve this situation, to organise
I need your love to help me refloat
Until then sun shades on this grey day is my disguise

I once felt on top of the world
And now the bottom has definitely dropped out
The flags i waved in love are left unfurled
And my mind is still riddled with doubt

I’ve no perception, not even intuition
The love i knew was based on lies
So i’m forced to face my fears, face submission
And so sun shades on this grey day is my disguise

There are so many unspoken words to say
And hard times for me to get through
I’m wearing my sun shades on a grey day
Cause my eyes are crying rivers for you
You left me without a word
I don’t know what i’ve supposed to have done
Wearing sun shades on a grey is absurd
But i know love has been and gone.
