And Jesus Said

AND JESUS SAID

Jesus give me courage

Give me a remedy for the blues

I’m not at the comfort stage

And I should not show ingratitude

But why should I talk to God, and waste my breath

When the only thing that’s coming to me

Is the certainty of death?

 

 

And Jesus said,

 

Look up towards the heaven

And be honest with yourself

When angry and heartbroken

And in a crisis, who do you call for help?

It’s to God you cry, and the angels of the sky

So you still have faith, and there’s no reason why

Your flame of faith should wane 

   God does not neglect, those on a heaven bound train

 

 

Jesus give me restoration

Give me light from the dark

I’m not at the holy station

And I really should not remark

But why am I talking to myself, without words of reply

When the only thing that’s on my mind

Is knowing I will die?

 

 

And Jesus said,

Look up towards the heaven

And be honest with yourself

When angry and heartbroken

And in a crisis, who do you call for help?

It’s to God you cry, and the angels of the sky

So you still have faith, and there’s no reason why

Your flame of faith should wane

God does not neglect, those on a heaven bound train

 

 

Jesus give me kindness

Give me a good loving attitude

I’m not at a loyal place

And I should not appear rude

But why am I alone in mind, without strength of character

When the only thing that’s plain to see

Is loneliness and the hereafter?

 

 

And Jesus said,

Look up towards the heaven

And be honest with yourself

When angry and heartbroken

And in a crisis, who do you call for help?

It’s to God you cry, and the angels of the sky

So you still have faith, and there’s no reason why

Your flame of faith should wane

God does not neglect, those on a heaven bound train

 

 

Jesus I’ve found comfort in misery

You gave me words of hope

And it’s not just about me

Without faith how would we cope?

Believe in the light of the world, and salvation is gold

And when you’re almost in sight of God

Spiritual renewal takes a hold

 

 

And Jesus said,

Look up towards the heaven

And be honest with yourself

When angry and heartbroken

And in a crisis, who do you call for help?

It’s to God you cry, and the angels of the sky

So you still have faith, and there’s no reason why

Your flame of faith should wane

God does not neglect those on a heaven bound train.
